Housing Ladder

We've spent most of the week off involved with operation love our home. We had an evening out at Ikea looking for kitchen ideas, we didn't buy much, only veggie balls, a very small chopping board and some beer for Dan.

Since the big ugly unit moved out of the house at the start of the year the majority of our books (we still have a few even though we've donated over 600 in the past year or so) have been living in the spare room wardrobe. Getting rid of the defunct Sky box and dvd player freed up space for some books in the living room, I have relocated my craft stuff from the sideboard in the spare room to the small cupboard on the landing freeing up the sideboard for the rest of the books. The vinyl have gone into the cupboard under the stairs for the time being, we don't have a record player at the moment so there's no point having them out. So now we have a wardrobe that can be used as a wardrobe, blimey.

Dan took the rest of the garden waste to the tip on Monday so we had plenty of space in the bulk bag for the broken fence panels and lots of ivy. all of our decluttered stuff went to the charity shop so we're quite clear at the moment.

A couple of things have made their way into the house. When we bought our dining table it came with only two chairs which means it's a bit of a scramble to seat people when they come round to eat, which happens more often these days. I've relocated my white chair from the bedroom to the dining area and sometime today a friend will arrive to complete the set.

We have also been on the lookout for a bookcase for the living room, but now we don't need a bookcase we settled for some shelving instead. It arrived first thing. Luckily for us we have a midcentury furniture shop in the town so it was our first port of call, they had something to fit both our budget and our small alcove.

I'll try to not fill it up with too much junk.

The most exciting thing to me is that I'll be able to have a plant on the top shelf, surely it's too high up even for naughty and determined bunnies!
